RSS Basics

RSS is a short form of Really Simple Syndication. Type of file which makes RSS is a XML type file. RSS are used in order to associate news content and web content. After distribution of content it is called a feed. Various sites like that of news channel websites, share market websites, weather information websites, and product information pages are updated in an unknown span of time.

It is very difficult to see which content has been updated and which has not been updated. This problem is solved by the advent of RSS feeds. Through RSS feeds the updated information is available in an organized manner and can be viewed by the people in an easy way.

Earlier the changed content was informed through e-mail notification which was not a user friendly process. People’s email accounts were flooded with content information and sometimes these notification mails were sent to the spam folders. The data was organized in a hectic way and it was not easy for people to see what changes have been in the website. RSS feeds solve all these types of problems.

While surfing the internet we come across various types of information. With RSS feeds the information flow can be managed in an easy and efficient manner. With RSS feeds people don’t have to search down whole of the internet. Through RSS feeds, the information is managed just by clicking a button and the rest of the job is done itself.

When the RSS feed was launched only techno savvy people knew about the feeds. As the time passed feeds were accessed by greater number of people. The popularity of RSS feeds is increasing day by day. The symbol of RSS feed is in orange color. Through RSS feeds users have access to the dozens of websites on a same page.
